The view at Rock Island State Park

Labor Day weekend often signals the end of the summer, but that signal sounds like nonsense to us! There’s lots of good weather left and fun paddling events in store. Among them is the new Rock Island Paddle Rampage. This SUP and kayak race in Rock Island State Park offers the chance to compete in an 1-, 2- or 4-mile race. And, this is the coolest part, in our opinion, the registration fee includes overnight camping in the state park.

We’ll have boards available for rent, so you don’t have to haul your own, but you do need to book them separately from your race registration. 

Details: Sunday, August 31, 2014, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cost $45 registration; gear rental an additional $35.
