Andee Rudloff, the River and Modular Art Pods
abrasiveMedia, a gallery in the Wedgewood-Houston district, invited artists to submit proposals for Modular Art Pods. Selected artists would be asked to create an environment in an 8-foot cubic pod by Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Yes, 8 feet!
Patrons are invited to explore the art pods on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Yes, only one night.
Our good friend and fellow SUP-er Andee Rudloff submitted the following:
I will collaborate with community members to create an interactive space focusing on area waterways and lakes. During the One Night Only event, I will encourage patrons to participate in art making as they pass through. The space will include the sounds along an urban waterway. The future health of the city is responsible growth and the development of alternative transportation. This space will encourage a broader conversation about participation, environment and a creative city.
Of course she was accepted because she is awesome like that.
So, here is where the SUP community comes in. Andee would like you to send her stories about your experiences, images, videos, sounds and/or actual objects focused on the rivers, creeks and lakes. She’ll be installing on Feb. 1, 2015, so, obviously, she needs everything before that date. E-mail her your thoughts at info@chicnhair.com. Then we can plan a SUP community gallery outing to support her and see what she’s created.
